Summary: #122: Lawyer and activist Albie Sachs was maimed by a car bomb blast in Maputo, Mozambique in March 1988. In this interview, one of the first after the blast, he describes what happened and his immediate plans. He also analysyes the South African government's campaign of terrorism. #89: In November 1987 Govan Mbeki was released from Robben Island after 23 years of imprisonment. This is his first television interview since his release. He discusses a range of issues, including the possibility of negotiations with the government, his commitment to the ANC and marxism, the political views of Nelson Mandela, and gives his view of sanctions. #110: Thabo Mbeki, then ANC Director of Information, is interviewed about the South African government's alleged involvement in assassinations of anti apartheid activists at home and abroad.     Description: Mazimbu : behind the lines of a liberation movement / dir. by Toni Strasburg. - UK, London : Scope Films Ltd., 1986. - Video : VHS; 52 min. Summary: Since the Soweto uprising of 1976 hudreds of youth have fled political violence, crossing into neighbouring states to join the ANC. In 1977 the ANC set up the Solomon Mahlangu Freedom College (Somafco) at Mazimbu in Tanzania on land given by the Tanzanian government. Today it is a small town run by the ANC, housing 2000 South African exiles. There are several schools, a hospital, a farm and various light industry which provide vocational training. The film looks at the politics behind Mazimbu and nearby Dakawa, where the ANC is establishing facilities for a further 5000 exiles from apartheid.Students, recently from South Africa, relate their experiences and discuss the difficulties of adjusting to the life there and their plans for the future. Summary: A film about Mojaki Thulo, a young South African girl who is studying at the Solomon Mahlangu Freedom College, a schoolvillage for South African children and youth in Tanzania, built by the ANC. Mojaki, who was actively involved in the open resistance, fled from South Africa when she was 17 years old, the police being after her. They arrested her best friend, who was badly tortured and later taken to a mental hospital. She is followed by the filmmakers at the Freedom College.
