Description: Sticker Heroic Guerilla BASIL FEBRUARY 'A revolutionary dedicates himself to the cause of a better life... A revolutionary loves life and he knows that life does not end when he himself dies.' These are the words of the heroic guerilla, Basil February who died in combat on his way to to [sic] the South African battelfield during the Wankie Campaign of 1967-'68. A leading member of the Luthuli Combat Detachment of Umkhonto, he was a great fighter, whose single handed resistance when surrounded by the enemy lasted more than two hours. He fell in that battle - after many other encounters with the enemy - having afflicted heavy losses on the racist soldiers. Basil was born in Somerselt West and he was a medical student at the Cape Town University when he left the country. PICK UP HIS WEAPON!! Continue the freedom march!
