Description A handmade birthday card, signed by the many disadvantaged children living with disability from around South Africa who have been invited to share Nelson Mandela's 78th birthday festivities. The President of South Africa is fondly known to children in particular as Tata Madiba, as depicted on the card. The birthday extravaganza has been held on the 17th July 1996 on the grounds of Hilton College near Pietermaritzburg in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. The event has the backing of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund. Nelson Mandela was born on the 18th July 1918 in Mvezo, a small village in the Eastern Cape.
